Biography: Ali Lenin Aguilera
One of the most successful businessmen from Venezuela Ali Lenin Aguilera has largely made his fortune through his work as a lawyer. Mainly what he has done is help companies to start doing business in the country. He has also started several companies of his own. The result is that he is now one of the most respected businessmen in all of Latin America.
Ali Lenin Aguilera was born to a prosperous family in Venezuela where he seems to have been something of a protégé. He attended the countries merchant marine college while he was still in his early teens and would then go on to get a law degree. He would go onto work as a human rights lawyer before taking a position with the government as an advisor. This position was short lived however as he was removed from his position when Hugo Chavez took control of the government. Since then Aguilera has worked mainly as an entrepreneur and a lawyer.
Aguilera got his start in business working for his grandfather who ran a fuel distributorship. This required a barge to transport the fuel and this was where Aguilera worked. This probably explains his early enrollment at the merchant marine academy. While working with his grandfather they also created a construction company and a petroleum services company. Given how important the oil industry is to Venezuela it should probably come as no surprise that these businesses have prospered. That being said his skill as a businessman played a major role.
Eventually Ali Lenin Aguilera would go to the United States to further his education. He would attend the University of Miami where he would get an MBA in 2002. Two years later he would add another Masters degree, this time in Management Science. He is currently continuing his studies and is working on a doctorate degree. At the same time he continues to practice law with a specialization in mergers and acquisitions. This is big business as it involves helping large corporation to merge. The result is that his law firm has prospered making Aguilera a very wealthy man. In addition he continues with his entrepreneurial work running some of the other businesses that he has founded.
One of the areas that Ali Lenin Aguilera has always taken very seriously is his work as a philanthropist. Mostly this is done through his work as a lawyer, particularly arguing for human rights. He has also worked hard to restore democracy to Venezuela; this is something that he is a firm believer in. The way he does this in large part is by encouraging the government and business to work together. The belief is that as more foreign companies set up shop in the country it will force to government to adopt a more democratic stance. So far there has been good progress in this regard.
